Health & Wellbeing Day Retreat

London Health & Wellbeing Day Retreat brought to you by Martha Chapman, martha rose yoga & Kelly McLaughlin, Blackheath Physiotherapy.

Escape the hustle and bustle of city life to join Kelly and Martha for a nourishing day retreat in the heart of Blackheath, London. By joining forces you will experience the beauty and benefits of pilates and yoga.

Our day starts with a morning of pranayama, meditation and intention setting. Bringing us into the space and getting us ready for our day.

This will be followed by a physio led mat-based Pilates session with Kelly, designed to target your whole body from head to toe. Kelly is a Chartered Physiotherapist trained by the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates institute, what does that all mean? You will participate in a safe and effective class designed to prepare and progress you as it flows. It is suitable for beginners, if haven’t exercised for a while, are a seasoned pro or carrying an injury. 

Afterwards, you will have time to explore the lovely local area and refuel your body. We have partnered with some of our favourite spots to offer you a little discount – enjoy delicious freshly made food, juices, cake and coffee.

We will reconvene at 1.15 for a myofascial release workshop. In this 45 minute workshop Kelly will take you through a series of self release techniques, using spiky balls and foam rolling, perfect to take away and use in everyday life.

The afternoon will be led by Martha. She will guide you through a Gentle flow to rest. Starting with a slow and calm yoga flow that links movement with breath; transitioning to a beautiful restorative and yoga nidra (yogic sleep) practice to close our day together.

Retreat schedule

Morning

10.15-10.25am: Arrive and settle for the day.

10.30-11.00am: Guided pranayama (breath), meditation and intention setting practice (with Martha).

11.00am-12.00pm: Physio-led Pilates. A mat-based session designed to target the whole body from head to toe (with Kelly).

Lunch

12-1.15pm: Enjoy lunch at one of the local cafes.

Afternoon

1.30-2.15pm: Myofascial release workshop (with Kelly).

2.15-4.00pm: Gentle flow followed by deep restorative and Yoga Nidra practice (with Martha).

4.00pm: Finish for the day.

Our Home for the day

Blackheath Complementary Health Centre is set in the heart of the Blackheath Royal Standard. It is a warm and welcoming place that promotes a sense of peace as soon as you enter through the doors. Spaces are limited to just 8 people, allowing you to experience personal space and attention throughout the practice. You can find us by clicking HERE

The Blackheath Royal Standard is a lovely community, full of buzzing shops, cafes and coffee bars. The people are friendly and there are always locals catching up and enjoying the area, especially on a weekend. You will get a chance to experience this wonderful place over the lunch break. The Heath and Greenwich Park are also a short walk away, so you can take the time to enjoy the fresh air and open green spaces.
